SSC MTS 2025 Selection Process – Step-by-Step Guide

As per the official SSC MTS 2025 Notification, the selection process for Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) and Havildar posts involves multiple stages to ensure the most eligible candidates are shortlisted. Each stage is designed to assess the candidate’s knowledge, physical fitness (for Havildar), and document authenticity.

Here’s a detailed breakdown of the SSC MTS 2025 selection process:

 Stage 1: Computer-Based Examination (CBE)

The first step is an online Computer-Based Test (CBT), common for both MTS and Havildar posts. The exam is objective in nature and evaluates candidates in the following subjects:

General Intelligence & Reasoning, Numerical Aptitude, General Awareness, English Language

Marking Scheme:

 A) Each correct answer: +1 mark

 B) Each wrong answer: -0.25 negative marking

The exam is held in multiple shifts nationwide. Normalization of scores is done, and candidates scoring above the official cut-off will move to the next stage.

Stage 2: Physical Efficiency Test (PET) / Physical Standard Test (PST) – (For Havildar Only)

Candidates applying for the Havildar post must qualify PET and PST after clearing the CBT.

A) PET includes walking/cycling tasks to test endurance

B) PST includes measurement of:

               1) Height & Chest (for male candidates)

               2) Height & Weight (for female candidates)

🔸 Physical standards vary based on gender, region, and category. Failing to meet the PET/PST criteria, even after clearing CBT, will lead to disqualification from the Havildar post.

Stage 3: Document Verification (DV)

Candidates shortlisted after the above stages must undergo Document Verification. During DV, the following original documents must be submitted:

      A) 10th Class Certificate (Proof of Education)

     B) Valid ID Proof (Aadhaar, PAN, etc.)

     C) Caste/Category Certificate (if applicable)

     D) Disability Certificate (if applicable)

All application details will be verified against the original documents. Any false claim or mismatch can lead to cancellation of candidature.

Only those who clear all three stages successfully will be included in the final merit list for appointment.

SSC MTS Exam Language Options

For the first time, the computer-based SSC MTS exam will be conducted in multiple languages. Candidates must select their preferred language while filling out the application form.
